Desafortunadamente, ayer tuve la magnifica idea de instalar linux en mi computadora despues de tanto tiempo que muchos me decian que debía probarlo. Durante todo ese tiempo me resistí debido principalmente a que no se puede correr la suite de adobe que uso diariamente.
Hace ya 3 años que me compre un disco de 1.5Tb donde tengo todas mis cosas organizadas por particiones.
Las cosas personales en una particion de 200gb, los trabajos en una de 300gb, la música en una de 250gb y una ultima parte de 200gb con recuersos (instaladores, imágenes de stock, secuencias de video, texturas y modelos de 3d, brushes, vectores, etc...) y otra de 250gb donde tenía instalado windows 7. El resto, unos 250gb, libres.
Sobre esa ultima parte fue que me decidi a instalar el rc de ubuntu 10.04.
Acostumbrado a formatear y reinstalar windows cada 3 meses aproximadamente, reinicié la pc, e inserte el disco para bootear e instalar el tan recomendado karmic koala.
El problema es que este maravilloso sistema operativo de codigo libre no reconoce particiones de windows y al instalar no vio que había divisiones en el pequeño disco y se tomó la libertad de usarlo todo...
por lo tanto toooooooodas esas cosas que tan preciadamente guardaba con total confianza en prolijas particiones ya no me acompañan y quedaron completamente imposibilitadas de volver a mis manos...
El último back up es de diciembre de 2009 por lo que los trabajos actuales tendre que volver a empezarlos de 0 y en cuanto a mis cosas personales, será cuestión de empezar el año nuevamente dejando atras todos los recitales, salidas, reuniones, paseos, fiestas y demases...
No sé cual es el punto de escribir esto, pero quizas a alguien le sirva de consejo.
Y pensar que todo fue por querer emprolijar el trabajo, dejando solo windows para trabajar y ubuntu para el uso diario y no poner en peligro los archivos de trabajo...

Unfortunately, yesterday I had the wonderful idea to install linux on my computer after so long that many people told me that i should try it. During that time I resisted mainly cause you cant run the Adobe Suite that I use daily on it.
3 years ago I bought a 1.5TB disk where I have all my stuff organized by partitions.
The personal things in a partition of 200GB, work in a 300GB, the music on a 250GB and a 200GB last part with resourses (installers, stock images, video sequences, 3D models and textures, brushes, vectors, etc ...) and a 250gb where windows 7 was installed. The rest, about 250gb was free.
On that last part was that I decided to install ubuntu rc 10.04.
Accustomed to format and reinstall windows every 3 months or so, I restarted the computer, and insert the boot disk and install the holy recommended karmic koala.
The problem is that this wonderful open source operating system does not recognize windows partitions and didnt see that there were divisions in the "small" disk and took the liberty to use it all...
therefore aaaaaaaaaaaaall my loved things that i kept so confidently in neat partitions are no longer with me and were completely unable to return to my hands ...
The last back up is from December 2009 so the current work will have to start from 0 and as for my personal stuff, be a matter of starting the year again, leaving behind all the concerts, outings, meetings, outings, parties and those things...
I dont know what's the point of writing this, but maybe could be useful for someone as advice.
Funny thing is that it was all for wanting to work tidying up, leaving only windows for work and ubuntu to everyday use and not jeopardize the work files... u.u
